Yes we can design smarter, cleaner homes that generate power to heat themselves, make their own electricity and recycle the water that they use. We are inspired by the smart design that went into creating this delightful home. It is creative design pioneers like John Sagebiel and his wife Mary Cablk that are showing us the way to a sustainable future.
Cheers John and Mary..we celebrate you and thank you for bringing this vision to fruition. May there be many others who follow.
Performance of Solar Thermal vs. Solar Photovoltaic
July 22nd, 2009John Delano a University of Albany professor has added a solar thermal array alongside his solar PV installation. John discovered how much less expensive a solar thermal system can be to install.
General guidelines are that solar thermal systems are able to capture and use 85% of the sunlight that falls on their surface compared to the 22% efficiency ratings that top solar photovolatic panels on the market can claim.
